I'd actually prefer the edgy engines, the pair of bigger ones. idk. Seems more advanced.

I think a recon cruiser for the Vaygr or Hiigarans (or both) would make a lot of sense if we gave it an active role in scouting and sensory data.

Bill and I worked out a pretty cool sensor idea (active and passive sensors) that he mentions in one of his posts in the topic you linked. If you redesigned the sensor system to something simmilar (or at least redesign it) we could give the Recon Cruiser quite a strong role, even if it had absolutely no weapons. Just by mechanics alone.

CLX is all about stealth, recon and target painting imo — bristling with sensors, it just needs enough weapons to defend itself — light cruiser class armament is sufficient.

Check the sensor thing I posted in the Team section. Though it'll have to be discussed technically :%

Just did! Add to the CLR a buildable sensors absorption module (SAMR) which would render it difficult to detect within the active sensor range of an enemy ship.

Sort of like a passive cloak. Reduce energy and heat emissions of a ship to not show up on passive sensors. And then use scattering techniques to ether completely disappear (on max upgrades) in active sensors or (on lower upgrade levels) create sensor ghost? That would be kinda cool Very Happy

I don't see the difference between an absorption module and a cloak module gameplay-vise.

Sensor absorbtion would be passive, not visually cloak the ship and not require anti-cloak sensors to detect. Also sensor upgrade would combat the effect of sensor absorption.

SAMR — Exactly that.
